I’m H A P P Y!

We live in such a fast-paced world, where we have demands coming from so many directions, it can be easy to forget that we need to take care of ourselves.

No child wants a grumpy parent. We need to take time to care for our carers. And a shouty boss is not a popular boss.

Below are a few ways you can try to take just a minute in your day to pause, and take time to smile.

  1. Little Wins
  2. Action for Happiness

Little Wins

Recently at work, we discussed how we can thank the universe for the little wins of the day. These small things impact my mental health in a positive way. It helps to counter the dark days when I get the “world is against me” vibes.

Just don’t forget to voice the thanks. I don’t know why, but it matters. It’s like a reinforcement in the brain. It always makes me giggle when I do, and that’s probably why it works.

Some examples:

  • Its not raining at lunchtime when I’m cycling into town
  • Green lights when driving (especially when I’m in a hurry – whilst keeping to the speed limit, naturally!)
  • No oncoming cars when turning right at a junction
  • A happy, successful meeting, where everyone agreed and there were no tensions
  • A cancelled event, giving you the gift of time when you’re busy
